The Bird of Paradise plant is native to South Africa and is known for their gorgeous flowers, which resemble a bird in flight (see last photo.) They prefer bright, indirect light, even waterings, and enjoy a humid environment. If leaf edges start to brown in winter when your furnace is on, try a humidifier or set on a pebble tray.
