I received my first film SLR camera from a substitute English teacher in high school, who had learned of my interest in photography. One day he just handed me this bag full of lenses and a 35mm film camera body and told me to "go play around with it,” thinking the best way to learn was to do.

My first love though has always been music. I spent most of my adolescence and young adult years working with and helping to promote bands based across the country. My passion for photography easily crossed paths with my love of music as I started taking band press kit photos and live concert photos for the bands I worked with as early as college.

I accidentally fell into making music videos when I was asked to a video set to take behind-the-scenes stills, and the person who was supposed to film the video was unavoidably detained. "Let's run through it a few times while we wait, and Jules, why don't you just start filming and see what you get." Well, the footage turned into a collaboration with famed photographer Allen Clark (who has shot Presidents, Royalty, Sports Stars, and Music Legends) and Levi Weaver's "Transatlanticism" music video was born. I was grateful for this chance occurrence because I figured out that I love video work almost more than photography.

With a little bit of luck and talent I landed filming gigs with SiriusXM and Nashville based music company Noisetrade within the year. The full lists of bands I've been able to work with through these companies are below with links to the videos.

At this point, I’ve been in several published books, have photo credits on a myriad of band websites and CD jackets (see links for both at the bottom of the page), have promo photos in newspapers and magazines across the country, and have worked on many music videos.  I've also been able to contribute some video for a documentary on Nashville musician Levi Weaver that will be showing at an indie movie theatre or film festival near you soon.
